The fine print, made friendly

Terms of Service

The rules of the greenhouse — in plain, friendly language.

Last updated September 6, 2026
The gist
  • Use Bloom to identify and care for your plants — just don't misuse it or break the law.
  • Our plant IDs and care tips are AI-generated guidance, not professional advice. Never eat a plant based on an ID.
  • Bloom Pro is an optional subscription billed through your app store. It renews automatically until you cancel — and you can cancel anytime in your store settings.
  • Your plant photos stay yours — you give us the permissions we need to run Bloom, and a standout photo may occasionally represent its species in our shared catalog (never with your name).
This summary is here to be helpful — the full sections below are what actually govern your use of Bloom.
01

The agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are the agreement between you and Solac Labs LLC ("Bloom", "we", "us") covering your use of the Bloom app, the Bloom website, and everything in them (together, the "Service").

By downloading Bloom, creating an account, or using the Service, you're agreeing to these Terms. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information. If you don't agree with them, that's completely okay — you just won't be able to use Bloom.

02

Your Bloom account

You need to be at least 13 years old to use Bloom. If you are below the age of legal majority where you live, a parent or guardian must review and agree to these Terms with you. Higher minimum ages or permission requirements under applicable law also apply.

Keep your details accurate and your password to yourself. You're responsible for what happens under your account, so let us know right away if anything looks off.

03

Using Bloom the right way

Bloom is here to help you care for real plants. To keep it a friendly place for everyone, please don't:

  • Break the law, or use Bloom to harm, harass, or mislead anyone.
  • Upload content you don't have the rights to, or that's harmful, offensive, or not actually about plants.
  • Copy, scrape, reverse-engineer, or resell Bloom except as permitted by applicable law or an applicable open-source or content license.
  • Interfere with the app, our servers, or anyone else's use of it.
  • Use bots or automated tools to hammer our plant-identification service.
04

About plant IDs & care tips

This one matters, so here it is plainly: Bloom's plant identifications, health diagnoses, and care tips are friendly guidance generated by artificial-intelligence models. They are not professional botanical, agricultural, medical, or veterinary advice, and they can be wrong.

Plants are living things and every home is different, so we can't promise an identification or diagnosis is correct or that a plant will thrive. Please use your own judgment, too.

Never eat, brew, or apply a plant to skin based on a Bloom identification. Many common houseplants are toxic to people and pets — when it really matters, check with a qualified professional.

05

Bloom Pro & billing

Bloom is free to download. The free plan includes one saved plant and photo identification within a daily allowance, plus care information and reminders. Bloom Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription that unlocks more — like unlimited saved plants, a higher daily scan allowance, and plant-health diagnosis. Identification and diagnosis share that allowance; daily limits and service safeguards apply. Available plans, the subscription length (monthly or yearly), and the price are shown in the app before you buy.

Subscriptions are sold and billed through the Apple App Store, under its terms:

  • Payment is charged to your App Store account when you confirm the purchase.
  • Your subscription renews automatically for the selected period and the disclosed price unless canceled. Cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends to avoid the next renewal; Apple may charge for renewal within 24 hours before the new period starts.
  • You can manage or cancel anytime in your App Store subscription settings — deleting the app or your Bloom account doesn't cancel the subscription.

Free trials. If your Bloom Pro subscription starts with a free trial, the trial converts into a paid subscription when it ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours beforehand. If you buy a subscription during a trial, any unused trial time may be forfeited (that's a store rule). Trial availability and eligibility depend on the offer shown and your Apple Account purchase history. If Bloom separately grants promotional access without an App Store subscription, that access ends without creating a paid subscription.

If prices change, we'll follow your app store's notice rules, and the new price will only apply from your next billing period.

06

Cancelling & refunds

You can cancel Bloom Pro anytime from your App Store subscription settings. Paid access generally continues through the period already purchased, subject to Apple's rules for refunds and cancellations. Existing saved plants are not automatically removed when Pro ends, but adding plants and using Pro tools is subject to the free plan's limits. Trial access may end when you cancel, under the terms Apple displays.

Because payments run through the app stores, refunds are handled under their policies — for Apple purchases you can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. We're happy to help point you in the right direction — just reach out.

07

Your plants, your content

The photos, names, notes, and care history you add are yours. You keep them.

To make the app work, you give Bloom permission to host, store, and process your content — for example, sending a photo to our AI partner to identify a plant or diagnose its health, syncing your jungle across your devices, and showing your content back to you. You're responsible for making sure you have the right to upload whatever you share. Our Privacy Policy explains exactly how photos are handled.

Occasionally, if one of your photos is an especially clear example of a species, we may use it as that species' reference photo in Bloom's shared plant catalog, where other plant parents can see it. The catalog does not display your name or profile with that photo. Contact us if you want it removed. The license you grant is non-exclusive, royalty-free, and limited to operating these features; catalog and storage deletion follow the process described in the Privacy Policy.

08

Our stuff

Bloom, Sprig, our logos, artwork, and the software behind the app belong to us and our licensors. Your license to the iPhone app is governed by the applicable App Store end-user license agreement described below. These Terms supplement that agreement for Bloom's services and website; they do not replace the app license.

Please do not use our name or branding in a way that suggests our endorsement without permission. This does not restrict lawful references, fair use, or rights under the licenses of third-party materials identified in our Photo credits.

09

Changes to Bloom

We're always tending to Bloom, so features may grow, change, or occasionally be pruned. If we make a meaningful change to these Terms, we'll let you know in the app or by email before it takes effect.

10

Disclaimers & liability

Bloom is provided "as is". To the fullest extent the law allows, we're not liable for a plant that doesn't make it, for indirect or incidental losses, or for anything beyond the amount you paid us in the past 12 months.

Some places don't allow certain limitations, so parts of this may not apply to you.

11

If you got Bloom from an app store

Your App Store download is subject to Apple’s standard End User License Agreement, unless a custom license agreement is provided for your download through the App Store.

These Terms are between you and us — not with Apple Inc. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Bloom and isn't responsible for the app, its content, or any claims about it — including claims that Bloom infringes someone's intellectual property. Investigating and resolving any such claims is on us.

If Bloom ever fails to meet a warranty that applies to it, you can tell Apple and Apple will refund what you paid for the app; that refund is the full extent of Apple's warranty responsibility — everything beyond it is ours.

You'll also follow the store's own usage rules and any third-party terms that apply to you (like your mobile carrier's agreement) when using Bloom. You confirm that you're not located in a country under a U.S. Government embargo or designated as "terrorist supporting", and that you're not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties. Apple (and its subsidiaries) is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms, which means Apple can enforce them against you once you accept them.
